The Birds Have Taken Over

The birds seem to be everywhere this Spring!  They are on our patio.....

...on our string lights.....

...in our pool...yuck....

...looking through our windows....

....hanging out on the deck railing.....

...in the bird houses.....

.....overhead......

....on our roof (6:30 am sharp they land with a thump)...

...in our spa...yuck....

...and the trees are full of them looking like colorful Christmas ornaments!

But they come in the name of   L  O  V  E  .....

And nest making on our outdoor speakers!

They are the ones building the nest in the speakers

He sings her beautiful love songs while she's tidying up the nest!

Luckily it's right outside my office window so I get to enjoy his joyful tune.

Hello there little beauty!  I do mean you.....

Just wanted to check in to see how you are coping with all that is happening in our world right now.  Are you able to find something to do at home that fills you up?  Or are you bouncing from one project to the next due to lack of focus?  Are all of your closets and drawers clean and orderly? Have you been cooking up a storm or baking?

I am a little of all of the above.

Song - Hummingbird's Mesmerizing "color change" Illusion

Recently I purchased a new lens for my camera - one that "zooms" a bit.

I also decided that if I want better bird photo's then I need to start using my tripod more often.

I was pleased with the first few photo's which were taken through my office window - which has a lot of mineral deposits on it from our sprinkler system.  So I decided to head outside.

 There were two Mourning Doves and one was just starting to close his eyes.  Kinda weird huh?

I had no idea that their eyelids didn't close straight down but kind of towards their back.

But then......this happened......

I felt like I was watching the first episode of The Incredible Hulk......

This is a male Anna's Hummingbird that changed right before my eyes.

And it wasn't just the direction that the sunlight hit him - at least I don't think it was - or was it?
