Simple Joys

I know it has been awhile.

I have felt the emptiness inside of me.

It is sunny today
and I brought home some
lovely pink primroses for our garden.

A very tough project has been completed.
Sigh....

A friend is battling cancer,
...with Grace.

I painted all day
just for myself.
Pure joy.

Plant
So that your own heart
Will grow.

Love
So God will think,

"Ahhhhhh,
I got kin in that body!
I should start inviting that soul over
For coffee and
Rolls."

Sing
Because this is a food
Our starving world
Needs.

Laugh
Because that is the purest
Sound.

Giving Thanks

Mentors maybe our parents, spouse, children or friends.  Certainly we glean much about life from them but my true mentors have been two incredible women who came into my life during a personal struggle.  Both have taught me to see life in a new and exciting way.  Gayle has taken me on a journey to discover my deeper self and my strength.  Marcy has helped me see the light in life through painting and how to find my true passion.  And both have taught me to laugh!

"More than mere teachers, mentors are often emancipators, freeing artists from poor technique, clouded vision and personal uncertainty."  - Paul Soderberg

"In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit." - Albert Schweitzer
