At The Old Ball Game

Song - Take Me Out To The Ball Game

It has been crazy, storming weather around the Bay Area over the last few days.  There was a huge lightening storm Thursday night.  The Bay Bridge got hit with 8 bolts at once and a plane that had just taken off from SFO got hit with a bolt and had to return to the airport.  One report I read said that we had over 750 strikes.

So even though we had Opening Day tickets for Friday the 13th, it did not look good my friends....

but miracles do happen.....

Mr. B took me, my brother Tim and his wife Donna to the game and not only was there blue skies, but the Giants won 5-0! You can see in the above photo that the nasty weather stayed just North of the ballpark and left us in sunshine!

Matt Cain took the mound and for 6 innings he pitched a perfect game.

Look at the contortion in his arms.....just amazing!

At the end of the game, the players all do this cute little "high five" thing.  That would be Buster & Pablo "high fiving" each other with Matt Cain at the far right (not the one with the camera but the other far right).

By the end of the game Matt had allowed one man on.  So it is technically a "shut out" but not a perfect game.

But it was a pretty perfect day for me. Spending time relaxing with Mr. B, my family and friends and the San Francisco Giants!  Whoo Hoo!

Put Another Candle on that Cake!

It was my dear friend, Jill's birthday this week and we set today aside to have lunch and celebrate.

First I gave her three choices of where she would like to spend the day.....the city (SF - Air Show), the country (Napa modern art gallery & lunch in Sonoma) or on the coast (Nick's cove right on the water).

She chose The City.  So we drove to San Francisco then discussed the crowds at the Embarcadero and decided to cross the Golden Gate Bridge and head to Murray Circle restaurant at Cavallo Point.  It's an old military base that has been turned into a wonderful Spa/Lodge/Restaurant.

We sat out on the front porch and watched the show while dining on some very yummy food & wine.

See how low they are?  Some even went under the Bay Bridge!!

Later we walked out to Horseshoe Bay Pier and watched the rest of the show from right under the bridge

It had been raining (at times pouring) in the Bay Area for the last few days.  Today was beautiful as you can see!  I ordered it all for my bud Jill!
