On Thursday the SF Giants had their Home Opener and guess who was there?

Yup...me and Mr. B!


We dropped Mika off in the morning at my mom's house and mom was all decked out (along with Mr. B) in dad's CRAWFORD shirt!

Pretty cute huh?

Getting off the Bay Bridge and heading to the Pier parking lot - I just love this view of the bridge.

Buster Posey greeted us at the stadium as did our good friends Chris & Jodi
who joined us at the game!

The excitement was palatable!!!

Everyone was decked out in Orange and Black (except for the Dodger fans (boo-hiss - JK)!

The pre-game announcers were all decked out on a beautiful day in April. Hi Shawn!!!

The Dodgers were warming up and preparing to whoop the Giants!

It's always fun to people watch at AT&T Park but especially on Opening Day!

I gotta get Mr. B a suit like that! Just for special occasions of course!!!

The Extra Large American Flag was brought out in style............

And long may it wave..........

They brought out Little Leaguers and Willie Mays.  

We had not one but two flyover's!!!

A big ol' jet airliner..............

And a flock of seagulls.

I don't know what happened to the Blue Angels this year.  

But I was majorly bummed....

Until I remembered that Hunter Pence is right near our seats 

- insert big smile HERE!

Everyone was ready....

The boating fans were ready!

The SF police were ready!

And then it was kind of boring for 4 innings and not just because the Dodgers were winning. 
Mostly because our Giants were playing like it was their first practice game. 
Peavy didn't pitch well and we made some fumbles out in the field and
No One was hitting well!

 The fans were so bored

that ice cream was getting it's close up shot in the seats in front of me.

But then somehow we came alive!!!

We caught up and then passed the Dodgers by!

We stood up and cheered our little hearts out!

We had pow-wow's in the infield.

Hi guys....welcome back!

Fans were catching fly balls - barehanded!!!!

Dodger and Giant fans were friends again.

All was right in our part of the world.

Then we began to get in our flow!


And then......

Three Giants got on base.....

And then Hunter Pence hit a Grand Slam!!!!!

Posey couldn't get the grin off his face in the next inning.

And that's the final score folks!

The boys are back in town!

New Art Show in Napa

Remembering Tinkerbell or Ethereal Thoughts

February 5, 1953 was the date that wonderful movie "Peter Pan" came out.

But I have a different story.....

For the last few years, when I wake up at night (which is a common occurrence) I occasionally see a bright light on the ceiling of our bedroom.  I have even woken up Mr. B thinking we had prowlers with super bright flashlights shining in our bedroom windows and up onto the ceiling.

 This light is blinding and some nights I wondered if it might be Spirit trying to contact me in some form. So I just chalked it up to "other worldly" and left it at that. But like I said - it's been going on for years!


Last night I was awake from midnight until 4:30 and I saw "the light" several times.  Always in the right corner of the ceiling.  Mmmmm.....  


Since I wasn't sleeping anyway, I decided to experiment.

Facts:
 1. It is always after I check my bedside alarm clock
 2. It only happens as I roll over to my right side
 3. It makes no noise
 4. There is no light on other than the clock
 5. Sometimes my eyes are closed
 6. Maybe I should go see my Optometrist or a Psychiatrist

My discovery last night -

1. It isn't Tinkerbell (bummer)
2. It's just me


In the middle of the night my eyes look more like the photo below.....

It's called Diffraction and happens when I look at my alarm clock (on my left) then roll onto my right side with semi-closed eyes (they feel like they are closed).  My eyes get moist from looking at the rather bright light of the digital alarm clock in the darkness and this moisture accumulates on my lashes.  As I roll the light from the alarm clock reflects on the moisture on my lashes and it is so close to my eye, it is almost blinding.

So long story short - I am not crazy (at least not all of the time) or having ethereal thoughts but just a girl trying to figure out her crazy mixed up world. If you pass me by and not say "hi" the next time we are together, I will understand.

Oh and by the way - "I can fly, I can fly, I can fly"!  (but only with a little bit of Pixie dust!)

Spring is in the Air

Five days ago mama Mourning Dove was sitting on the nest with out any evidence of  babies.

Then this morning, guess who showed up? She was in the nest alone because I think mama was out getting something to eat. I'm going to name her 'lil Debbie Dove.

The Spring garden is full of life.  

The Dogwoods are in full bloom in the shade garden.

The lettuce that Tyler planted last fall is yielding some beautiful plants just ready for eating.

Freesia is bloom in both the front yard and back yard.

The Wisteria is full of blooms and happy bees!

Roses are just starting to burst into bloom.

Hosta's are emerging from their winter sleep.

Dogwoods up close.

 Soloman's Seal fills in the base of the shade garden

Camelia's are just finishing up their blooms.  This plant was left from the original owners of our house and it produces non-stop!  I call them Nancy's blooms.  Maybe 'lil Debby Dove will fly over to Nancy's blooms one day soon?

 Our lovely apple tree is filled with these soft pink blooms.  One of my favorites!

 And of course our lawn is filled, filled, filled with Dandelions.  They remind me of childhood and blowing a wish.

 I forget what this ground cover is called but don't these flowers look like they are having a conversation?  And maybe one is sticking his tongue out at the other?

 Even the Japanese Maples are happy that it is Spring!

And here is my little buddy Mika who was walking around the garden with me but then got tangled up in the lemon trees.
