Autumn

I have always loved Autumn.  The days are still warm but the nights cool down.  It is a time for new school supplies, sharp pencils and a fresh sheet of paper.  A time for baking and coming within for comfort, reading a book or beginning a needlework project.  It's a time to reorganize and try to get in the last few al fresco dinners with friends and family.  The garden is not as demanding and the birds come back to my feeders.

"Delicious autumn!
My very soul is wedded to it,
and if I were a bird
I would fly about the earth
seeking
the successive autumns."
-- George Eliot
